Electromaker.io, the online electronics maker community, today announced a project-based competition for hobbyists with 100 Microchip AVR-IoT WG Development boards
as prizes, Entrants will also win the chance to compete for a place at the 2019 Microchip Masters conference in Berlin. The AVR-IoT WG development board, designed for Internet of Things (IoT) projects, connects to the Google Cloud in 30 seconds and features a secure, hardware-based CryptoAuthentication private key, making it easier than ever to quickly and securely upload data.
The board has built-in light and temperature sensors and is pre-configured to transfer data from these to the cloud. It also has a mikroBUS connector, which creates easy access to over 500 sensors and actuators. The Microchip AVR-IoT WG Development board can manage smart home tasks from automation to remote environmental controls to lighting. It can also be used for traffic management and smart health applications.
To enter the competition, participants must have a free account registered at electromaker.io (www.electromaker.io) and build their project using the Microchip AVR-IoT WG Development board. Two runners-up will win a Curiosity PIC32MZEF Development Board, SNAP Debugger, Arduino Uno WiFi, and a selection of connectors and shields.
The deadline for board applications is January 1st 2019 and projects must be uploaded by March 31st 2019. The winners will be announced on April 8th 2019.
